Kicks for Kids Outreach

Over 75 pairs of shoes were distributed to kids from the El Capitan community by Hope Dallas volunteers.

Hope Dallas hosted the 2020 Kicks for Kids initiative at the El Capitan Apartment Community in East Dallas on Sunday, August 30.

Over 30 families participated in a Virtual Learning Workshop presented by local educators from Robert T. Hill Middle School and received assistance with online enrollment instructions, understanding learning platforms, video conferencing, and best practices for student success. All children of parents enrolled received back to school shoes through partnership with local churches, donors, and Shoe Carnival with 75 students receiving a brand new pair of shoes.

Volunteers from Hope Dallas later returned to the El Capitan community the following week to assist families with online student enrollment.

Moving forward, Hope Dallas has plans to grow the partnership with the El Capitan community through continued initiatives to serve educational, family, and spiritual needs of the community.
